3 - Stage Major Correction Detail
From £400.00 | 2-4 days
Our Correction Detail is designed for cars that have more significant surface marring, scratches or swirl marks. In such cases, more time will be required on the paint correction and refinement stages
A 3-4 stage Machine Operated Polish to eliminate swirls/scratches, oxidation and dull and hazy paintwork that has become damaged over the years by poor wash technique, bad contact and strong chemicals.
The first machine polishing stage is a medium-heavy cut compound used in conjunction with a polishing/cutting pad that restores the paint and removes up to >90% of the surface defects. This generally reveals any deeper isolated scratches which are further removed via spot sanding/machining. The second set is a milder pass to refine any haze or marring the cutting stage may have left behind. The third or fourth polishing stages are known as the 'jeweling stage'. It is a necessary process which helps to level and refine the paint to achieve a true and crisp reflection of light, with up to 99% Paint perfection. This level of finish & paint refinement can generally only be found at a prestige Car Show and is for the true enthusiast.

First stage paint (correction)
Using a compound we will carefully and safely remove imperfections, swirls or surface scratches From the Paint | Glass | Lights | Chrome Trim. This process will also restore the colour and vibrancy of the paint that may have been dulled down over the years.
Using light wet sanding techniques (After carefully taking clearcoat measurment from the area) we will remove or minimize any random deeper scratches or stubborn etching, before polishing the area back to a gloss.
Second stage (refinement)
Once all surfaces imperfections are removed, the paint is refined by machine to a high gloss finish using a specialist finishing polish and pads.
Bodywork and glass are then thoroughly cleaned using a spirit based body shop panel-wipe to ensure that all traces of polish residue are removed and the paint and glass are ready for the wax or protective coating.
Final Stages (Jeweling)
Although 95% of our clients will be delighted after the Second refinement stage. The Jeweling stages squeeze out every last micron of refinement and light reflection possible. Also known as the Mirror Stage, the choice of fine abrasives, combined with the softest pad and more importantly the right technique, the paintwork should give the cleanest possible reflection
